Practise your way

Use the display controls above on any Language page. Your browser’s zoom and screen reader work alongside them.

Keyboard and screen readers

Tab and Shift+Tab move between controls. Enter activates links and buttons; Space activates buttons and checkboxes. Arrow keys choose radio answers and menu options. Use “Skip to content” to bypass navigation.

Task changes, saving, failures and recording states have text announcements. Timers remain available to read; time warnings announce at key points instead of every second.

Display access and teaching assistance

Text size, reduced motion, screen readers and keyboard access are display access. They do not imply teaching assistance.

Listening replay, changed playback speed and opening a transcript before submitting are learning aids. These choices produce an assisted result with the aids labelled in history, even if you return playback speed to normal. Reading diagrams have equivalent passage text. Writing’s word counter and speaking’s microphone check are visible practice tools.

These short activities are practice, not full exam simulations. A mock must declare its accommodation policy; practice aids do not establish permission to use them on an official exam. Language practice never becomes an official score.

Audio and mobile devices

Use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari browser. Speaking requires a secure connection, microphone permission and a working recorder. Check your microphone and replay the check before starting; a denied or unsupported recorder shows recovery instructions. Stop controls release the microphone. Switching away can interrupt capture; recover and replay saved audio before submitting.

Listening has playback buttons as well as browser audio controls. If audio cannot load, retry or deliberately choose the labelled transcript assistance. There is no automatic switch to an aided result.

Slow connections and recovery

Requests have a time limit and a visible retry. “Saved” means the server confirmed it. Keep a task open while saving; a timeout does not confirm success. Reconnect and check the same attempt before starting again.

Writing keeps recovery copies when browser storage permits. Copy unsaved text if storage is unavailable. Speaking can recover captured audio; download it before leaving if recovery storage fails. Unsaved listening and reading answers stay only on the current page. Switching accounts clears private work and rejects replies from the previous account.

Refreshing, reconnecting or changing display settings never restarts a timed task.

Failed processing, usage or cleanup

Check the original attempt before creating another one. A failed request can have reached the server even when you did not receive its reply. Retry the same request to confirm it. Technical failures release eligible held credits once; check Access & usage for the confirmed return. A credit return does not extend an expired access period or issue a cash refund.

Cleanup stages remain unconfirmed until their erasure evidence is recorded. A retry time is not a promise that erasure is complete.
